LARCHMONT HEIGHTS RESIDENCE
This residence was originally designed in 1919 by architect Irving Gill, considered to be a one of the first pioneers of the modernist movement. The owner wished to convert the existing detached garage into an office that could serve as a rental unit as well. Working in conjunction with the contractor we were able to transform the 500 sq. ft. single story footprint to accommodate a living room/kitchen, bedroom, ½ bath with an exterior shower. In addition measures were taken to maximize storage areas as well as offer an area to display the client's extensive book collection. Due to the architectural significance of the residence much care was taken to preserve the original intent of Gill's vision.
